On October 18th, the 2024 Overseas Chinese Media Jiangxi Tour Interview Team, consisting of more than 20 senior executives, backbone journalists, and editors from 18 countries and regions, visited the Jizhou Kiln Site Park located in Yonghe Town, Ji'an, Jiangxi, a famous historical and cultural town in China. They visited the Jizhou Kiln Museum and experienced traditional porcelain casting techniques.
Jizhou Kiln, one of the top ten famous kilns in Chinese history, is a national 4A level tourist attraction and a comprehensive folk kiln site in ancient Jiangnan region of China. It was founded in the late Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty, and reached its peak in the Southern Song Dynasty. 24 ancient kiln sites from the late Tang to Song and Yuan dynasties have been preserved, making it the best preserved, largest and most concentrated group of kiln sites in China. The underglaze painting technique of Jizhou kiln had a great influence on the production of Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain. There are many kinds of products and styles in Jizhou Kiln, and more than 120 kinds have been found. Black glazed porcelain (wood leaf tianmu, Paper Cuttings decals, etc.) and colored painted porcelain (underglaze colored painting) are the most famous, and are typical representatives of Jizhou Kiln porcelain.
Zhu Xin'e, Vice President of Egypt's China Weekly, stated that Jizhou Kiln is an ancient kiln that integrates ceramic exhibitions, tourism, technology, innovation, and study tours. This is not just about inheritance, but more about innovation and utilization. She also hopes that her overseas audience can learn about the existence of such a treasure in Jiangxi through her bilingual platform's push notifications.
